My top 10 tips to find your JOY & keep it this season

Image
It's that time of year. We literally see the word JOY everywhere we look.... but, then we also see people trampling over each other at the malls to get the best deals, road rage is at it's finest this month, & everyone we know has a list they're making & checking twice. It seems that the older we get, the less we pay attention to the actual JOY of the season. Luckily, for me, I get to work with kids every single day who remind me what it's all about- the magic, the moments, & the wonder. so, how do we find our own JOY & how do we keep it throughout this holiday madness? these are 10 tips that work for me that you can try, too, if you're feeling stressed, pressed for time, or ready for 2016 to come so you can be done with all of the hustle & bustle. 1. GO TO BED EARLY DURING THE WEEK The holiday weekends are jam packed with parties, events, shopping extravaganzas. For me, I know I don't get nearly enough sleep on the weekends beca

Image
Hello friends! I hope you all are enjoying a lovely start to your December & taking the time to really live in the moment of the joy of the season! I wanted to check in with you all because recently, I completed the 3 day refresh- this past Wednesday through Friday. I had amazing results & really was set up for success this time! For starters, I ate the same thing ALL THREE DAYS, which is really what helped me stay on track & not have to overthink a single thing. Here's what my eating each day consisted of: BREAKFAST: 1/2 banana & Shakeology MID MORNING: tea time & fiber sweep LUNCH: vanilla fresh, cucumber & hummus & 1/2 banana SNACK: cucumber & hummus DINNER: vanilla fresh, cucumber & tomato salad (recipe comes with meal planning guide) EVENING TEA I did this for three days & my results were the best I've had yet. I prepped it all the day before & had 3 stacks of tupperware containers with all ready for easy "o

Black Friday came EARLY!

Image
Hey there!  I just HAD to reach out to all of you because I just got word that there is a BIG BLACK FRIDAY SALE happening with Team Beachbody! Word on the street s that some of your favorite programs that you may have had your eyes on will be up to 70% off! YIKES! These sales typically have limited quantities of products and the trend is that they SELL OUT!  For STARTERS, & the best sale, in my opinion because of what you’re getting for your money, is the 21 Day Fix/Shakeology bundle they have going on! You get a 30 day supply of Shakeology at it’s regular price—BUT! you add the 21 Day Fix OR Fix Extreme program for only $10 more! Shakeology is absolutely a GAME CHANGER as far as your health goes- we swear by it in our house for it’s health benefits & with my husband being type 1 diabetic, it has helped control his sugar levels & helps him get his greens in that he so despises (without him even knowing it!)  Not only that, but we also have CIZE CHALLENGE PACKS

Breakfast Egg Cups

Image
let's face it.  mornings are rough.  It's hard enough to not hit the snooze, let alone make yourself a healthy breakfast. & with all those drive-through "2 for 1 + free coffee" specials, it's way too easy to fill our bellies with grease & fake meat.  of course, I always recommend your daily dose of superfood nutrition in the form of Shakeology for breakfast & for those of you on the go, but if breakfast is a meal you'd like to eat, then this option is great!  I'm so pumped I finally took the time out of my day (35 minutes, to be exact) to set myself up for breakfast for the ENTIRE WEEK!  the other thing I love about this meal is that they are so versatile! you can really pump up the protein by adding meats- I think next time, I'll add some ground turkey sausage or shredded chicken to the recipe! you can vary your veggies & even add cheese.  here's how I made them this specific time: INGREDIENTS: 1 dozen larg

Super Saturday + Behind the Scenes

Image
A lot of questions have been coming at me about this thing I was at this past weekend called Super Saturday. It's not the first Super Saturday I've posted about & as many of you know- one of these events in April is the day that my business WHY evolved and emerged... it was always in there, but it's so much more than just sharing some DVD's & shakes. so, I wanted to take some time to fill you all in on what a Beachbody Super Saturday actually is, why they're important, & how you can attend... Exclusive Diamond Training friday night with Jeff Hill!  First, this past weekend was Pittsburgh's Super Saturday for the 4th quarter. Each quarter of the year, we all gather in cities to go over new business information, be inspired by success stories from coach and challengers, cheer each other on for our accomplishments, transformations, & successes, get in a kick butt live workout, take A LOT OF SELFIES! (my favorite part of the job), & squee

Fix Approved Broccoli Mac & Cheese!

Image
oh MY GOSH!!!!! my cousin sent me this recipe the other day & i was like yeah, okay, add it to the list of "clean comfort foods" to create when i have a "spare moment".... THANK GOD I DECIDED TO FIND A SPARE MOMENT TODAY! this literally only took me 20 minutes from start to finish & when i tasted it, i said a bad word. it's THAT good. & let's all press the rewind button and remind you that mac & cheese is my favorite food. like, ever. for my birthday every year, my mom says "what do you want for dinner?" every year, it's homemade mac & cheese. i am so happy that my stomach won't be nearly as angry with that decision from now on! the ingredients list is SO BASIC & i made mine gluten free, as well. here you go! INGREDIENTS: 6 cups macaroni pasta (i suggest whole wheat, but i use gluten free pasta!) 4 cups frozen broccoli florets 1/13 cup monteray jack cheese 11/3 cup sharp cheddar cheese * note for the

Who Am I?

hey! thanks for stopping by!  i wanted to take a second to introduce myself!  my name is Taylor {duh} & i currently live in Pittsburgh, PA & i'm married to my husband, Dave. we got married in 2013 & we have the cutest dog i the whole world, but i could be biased  wink emoticon i started coaching in may of 2014 after a few life events which caused me to gain about 30lbs. i took an office job, which was a lot of sitting when my body was used to dancing all day everyday. i then fell in love, so i gained some "happy" weight lol & then when i got engaged, i yoyo dieted. i did every fad diet out there to try to lose weight before my big day & SHOCKER- NONE OF THEM WORKED! i was looking for a quick fix. i would eat only cottage cheese for weeks at a time... i would pretend like i was going to workout, but then i would get intimidated at the gym & do about 10 min on the treadmill & then leave.  i was sick all the time. & tire

How to cook a spaghetti squash!

Image
the first time i attempted a spaghetti squash, i almost lost a limb. i figured it was a good topic to blog about once i figured it out & kept all fingers & hands in tact! it seems so logical, but for the kitchen impaired, IT'S NOT! i tried multiple methods (except the microwave method because i try to avoid the microwave at all costs) & this was the one i found the easiest & most effective! steps to follow: 1. preheat oven to 375 2. create "slice punctures" in the spaghetti squash 3. bake for 45 minutes 4. remove from oven & let cool (or if you're impatient like myself, put on an oven mit & proceed to step 5...) 5. cut squash ends off 6. cut squash in half 7. scoop out seeds & center portion of sqaush (i found this easiest to do on a baking sheet so i could be messy then just toss the remains) 8. peel out rest of insides with a fork! literally- peel them all out! you can eat everything except for the skin, which is really thin

Buffalo Chicken "Spaghetti"

Image
remember that time i blogged about how i had no clue how to cut open a spaghetti squash? well, i figured it out! & made this awesome, hearty, CLEAN, low-carb, dinner!  here you go! INGREDIENTS: spaghetti squash, cooked { click here for directions on how to cook a spaghetti squash! } shredded buffalo chicken (i put my chicken in the crock pot for 4 hours on high covered in hot sauce, then shredded with a fork & cooked on low for another half hour to save time & have for more than just this meal!) cheese of your choice (i used blue & parm, but will probably change this each time i make it)  clove of garlic salt & pepper  DIRECTIONS: preheat oven to 375 combine cooked spaghetti squash, shredded chicken, cheese, & garlic in casserole dish cover with foil & bake for 15 minutes, remove foil & bake for another 15 (or until bubbly & a little browned) REMOVE FROM OVEN & ENJOY!

#bethatgirl leadership retreat recap: i am worthy.

Image
okay... so, i am THAT girl that has a really hard time forming words of gratitude or expressing thoughts when i'm part of something that moves me so deeply- pretty much to endless tears. if you follow me at all on social media or we're real life friends, you know that last week, i spent the week in destin, florida with 40 other coaches at a leadership retreat. let me start by saying this- i, with all of my heart, did not feel like this retreat was something i deserved, earned, or should have taken the time to go to. i fought it long & hard. i battled with it for a while. but, something inside of me just kept saying "you're going"... (& then my husband was like YOU ARE INSANE IF YOU DO NOT GO TO THIS!- because he gets it. sometimes, more than i do!) & if i'm taking this moment to be SUPER honest... i drove myself to the airport & parked my car in the extended lot (which is not cheap) because i was actually had a ridiculous thought that if

TRANSFORMATION SPOTLIGHT, Katie Isaac

Image
hello, friends!  it's Tuesday- which means it's time again for TEAM SWEAT FOR JOY'S *TRANSFORMATION SPOTLIGHT*!  today, I want to introduce you to my dear friend, Katie Isaac. I have known her pretty much forever & her story is one that is inspiring, tear-jerking, & really encompasses THIS TEAM.  Read her responses below & also, check out her moving WHY video <3 how did you get involved with the programs & shakeology? I reached out to Taylor after cyber-stalking her for a few months.  I started with the 3 Day Refresh because I was sick and tired of working out, but being a self saboteur and not seeing results.  I knew some things that would make me successful, but I had zero accountability.  And I was lacking a lot of nutrition.  Shakeology has been a huge game changer for my entire household. what motivated you to make the change? I felt "stuck" in my mom body.  I had an end goal in mind and I wasn't getting close
