how did you get involved with the programs & shakeology?
I got involved with beachbody and shakeology because I was drawn to watching Taylor and her transformation, how there were so many positive things going on in her life and really just wanted some positivity in mine.
what motivated you to make the change?
I was really at a point where I felt like, sure I have a good job and I get to teach dance which is my biggest passion of all but I still wasn’t happy. I wasn’t taking care of myself or listening to my needs and my goals. I was surrounded by so much negativity for a couple of years that I felt like I need an overhaul. I thought even if I don’t get a physical transformation I will absolutely have a mental transformation.
what was it that kept you persisting towards your goal?
I needed to be happy! It was really a moment of I needed something to take negativity away from me and give me a new look on life.
why did you decide NOW was the time you were going to SUCCEED?
I don’t know why or how I decided or if I’ve even definitely said I’m going to Succeed the only thing I keep telling myself is that I’m not going to fail!
is there ever a day where you don’t think you can continue on or feel like it’s not worth it? how do you overcome those feelings of doubt?
Yikes, every day I contemplate staying in bed and not pressing play or not reaching out to someone and then I remember what it’s like to be in this dark place and tell myself that I can’t go back. I can’t go back to that unhappy, unappreciative, unmotivated person.
what do you think has been the most important factor in this journey?
The most important thing for me during this journey has been support. Support of positive people that just want to help reach others to become a more positive person
what has been the most rewarding part of all of this?
The most rewarding thing so far during all of this is that my boyfriend and I were talking and I was like I feel different, I feel like this happy person that doesn’t let things get to me like the used to and he looked at me and said because you are a different person. It was that AH-HA I needed this for so many more reasons than just getting in shape and eating right!
what is the biggest change you have seen within yourself?
My biggest change is my mental game. I honestly didn’t know that when I started out on this journey it would take me on a whole body transformation. I never realized how much personal development could shape my life and change my view on so much! When you surround yourself with positive people you just become more positive and appreciative of everything you have been through and everything you are going to go through.
what advice would you give to someone who is nervous about starting or just getting started?
Don’t be afraid to see the change. It was scary and I still have those negative vibes creep in. It’s like being a creature of habit and it’s hard to let the familiarity go but you will realize that sometimes familiarity is the one thing holding you back the most! You will truly experience a whole new you when you let things happen!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, Kristin! I can't wait to see what else is in store for you & love having you as part of Team Sweat for Joy!
