Just a Spoonful of Gratitude Helps the Negative Go Down

Long time no blog. I know. One of my 2015 goals is to blog twice a week-- keep me accountable!

If you've been following this fitness journey of mine at all, you've probably become aware that in the recent months, I've been changing up my challenge groups a bit and adding a "gratitude" layer to them. I decided to add this little bit of extra around Thanksgiving when everyone is focused on what they are thankful for & the way the results went down, I couldn't help but to continue one throughout December, as well. & now here we are in January & there is no way I'm not running a group at the start of 2015 without the gratitude factor.

Here's why:

*I noticed a dramatic increase in the amount of activity from challengers when they had to focus on their blessings and what they were grateful for as opposed to just focusing on their health goals.

*I found myself more excited to post in these groups what I'm thankful for, as well & I couldn't wait to see what people were going to post about that day.

*When your body is healthy, your mind functions more clearly-- therefore, allowing you to see your blessings more clearly.

*I've done some research & have learned that if you concentrate on 3 things you are grateful for every single day, you can rewire your brain to be happy.

*Not ONCE did someone post something negative in the group without an almost immediate response from another challenger pushing them to pick themselves back up, dust themselves off, and continue forward. The challenger support was the best I have witnessed yet & truly inspiring and reassuring.

*A lot of times, what you are grateful for will repeat. But if you're taking the time to journal about what you are grateful for, you will notice that there are many reasons why you can be grateful for the same thing or person or experience.

What have I noticed about myself since turning more to gratitude?

I'm actually excited every single morning to wake up, roll over and grab that journal & think of what I am thankful for before I get my day started. It sets the tone for my day in a whole new light-- a very positive one. I have so much more energy & will to get things done. (I have NOT missed a day in 3 weeks of pushing play of MAX: 30 which is by far the hardest workout program I have ever done yet-- because I am thankful I have the ability to sweat!) Thinking this way is a constant reminder of the bigger picture & when my  mind starts to go down a negative spiral I actually can catch myself and reverse the thought process rather quickly.

Overall, not only have I created a healthy body... but my mind is clearer & my soul is more healthy than ever.

I'm looking for 5 new challengers to join me on January 5th for my first challenge group of 2015. This will be a 60 day group where we will focus on getting our workouts in, eating clean 80% of the time, drinking Shakeology daily, & most importantly, remembering what we have and why we are grateful. If you're ready to make a complete change in the way you think, feel, and respond to your life, this is the group for you. A complete lifestyle change is about to go down.

Are you in?

I absolutely cannot wait to see what 2015 has in store for all of us & I am committed to making sure you have the best year yet!

All my joy,

Taylor
